ENJOY A SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF NE GEORGIA Jump into this Heritage Art Loop at any point on the map and get to know us here in Northeast Georgia! You'll probably see Paul Bendzunas blowing glass - he's almost always at the studio downtown in Comer (#13 on the map) or Tina McCullough working on her potter's wheel at her Blue Bell Gallery (#16). Jerry and Kathy Chappelle have three extraordinarily interesting businesses in and around Watkinsville. At Happy Valley Pottery (#32) glass blowers, metal workers and potters occupy the old farm buildings, now refitted with glass furnaces, kilns and potters' wheels. Downtown, Kathy runs Chappelle Gallery (#1) as well as Georgia Originals (#7) in the new Town Center complex. Upstairs, enjoy Tracy Jefferies' wonderful gallery at Town Center Fine Art (#6). Charles Warnock (the dogwoods below are his) is represented there. Genuine Georgia (#24) downtown in Greensboro sells the work of artists and craft makers all over Georgia. East of Greensboro in Union Point, The Point of Art Gallery and Studio (#20) is where you can usually find Anne Jenkins creating today's art in the historical treasure that is her gallery, studio and loft residence. At Lake Oconee, located on the southern end of the Art Loop, experience what Georgia's Lake Country is all about by first visiting the Lake Welcome Center. Lake maps for both Oconee and Sinclair, as well as information about local events, boat rental, dining, museums and much more are available here! Stop into as many of the studios, galleries, garden centers, restaurants and shops as you have time to enjoy. We'll tell you all about ourselves and our work. Then, please, come back & see us again! We'd love that! |
